Ardis Pierce
Records Preservation Fund

Since 1999, KVGS has made average annual donations of $500 to the Kalamazoo County Clerk's office earmarked specifically for rebinding and repair for the covers and pages of the indexes to the vital records.  And in some cases, to encapsulate the pages of the indexes in plastic to help in preserving them.

The donations made to the Preservation Fund come directly from the KVGS membership, specifically designated for this purpose.  Donations made in appreciation of the research that our volunteers assist individuals are also added to the fund.

In 2014, the fund was renamed in memory of longtime member and volunteer, Ardis Pierce, for her work in the preservations of the county records and volunteer work in helping others search for their families' records here in Kalamazoo County.
