Ardis Pierce Preservation Fund

Since 1999, KVGS has made annual donations averaging $500 to the Kalamazoo County Clerk's office earmarked specifically for rebinding and repairing covers and pages of the vital records indices.  KVGS donations also make available encapsulation of the index pages to preserve them.

Donations made to the Preservation Fund come directly from KVGS member and are specifically designated for this purpose.  Donations made in appreciation for research done by KVGS volunteers are also added to the fund.

In 2014, the fund was renamed in memory of longtime member and volunteer, Ardis Pierce, for her work in the preservation of county records and organizing volunteers to help others search for their families' records here in Kalamazoo County.
